Vodka in a special bottles from Russia

Manufacturers of Russian vodka come up with different ways to increase sales of its products. One of the ways is to use unusual bottles for vodka. For example, in the city of Samara factory "Rodnik" made vodka in bottles in the form of various historical characters (Tsar Peter the great, Napoleon Bonaparte, a Russian epic hero Ilya Muromets).

Russian antique colored postcards

On the one interesting site I found old Russian postcards. Of course, most of them black-and-white, but I chose only color postcards. All of the cards issued in the end 19th or the early 20th century. Look at them, I think it will be interesting.

Of course, in these photos is the standard stereotypes such as vodka, garmoshka and balalaika. Let it be so, these are the famous Russian characters. Lapti are the traditional bast shoes of the Russian peasants. Bast shoes are shoes made primarily from bast - fiber from the bark of the linden tree or birch tree: they are a kind of basket woven and fitted to the shape of a foot.

International Women's Day in Russia

International Women's Day March 8 is an official holiday in most countries of the former Soviet Union. Most banks, official buildings and educational institutions are closed on this day, although shops and kiosks usually stay open. Public transport may run less frequently than usual.

International Women’s Day is often celebrated among family or friends with a festive meal and drinks. Many women receive flowers, cards and other gifts on March 8.

Perhaps this holiday happy, not only women, but the flower sellers. Tulips, mimosa and roses are the main colors that give the women on this day. Not sure what to give the woman on March 8? Give flowers! This is a good and right gift. Just do not give yellow flowers (mimosa exception) and the number of colors must be odd (1,3,5 ..).

Now look old Soviet postcards. Many of them are very interesting.
